charlottetown... spud island...
i'm in charlottetown. catching the bus to saint john, nb, in two hours. last night was the most fun i've had so far on this tour. i got into the city and walked into town from the bus station, finding brennan's pub, where i was to play. it's on a sweet little section called victoria row, closed to traffic, part of a row of restaurants and cafes with patios. with no stage, and half of the people inside, and half outside, i performed in the front garage-door sized window, using the ledge as my stage. met up with some cool people when i first got there. this old-school skater cat named ethan and his ladyfriend rachel were super cool, and stuck around for the show. after i performed i ended up talking to a group of friends who were sitting on the patio, and they took me to this cool little spot called buba's, a small attic-like joint with a band playing in front and sweet little covered deck out back. love to sarah (happy b-day), carolyn, donnelly, and the rest of the gang for showing me a good time and letting me crash at their place. i woke up early this morning, and instead of going back to sleep for a while (which i probably should have), i walked around for a bit, put my feet in the water, and then hopped on the double-decker bus for a quick tour around the city. i'm at the internerd cafe next door to brennan's now, have to pick up my luggage from the pub and head to saint john today. what a great night. great people. great vibe. not what i expected, not what they expected. beautiful. i could move here. i'm in love...

getting my crossword fix on the bus from moncton.

brennan's. that's where i did my show, right in that big window on the left.

ethan.

jazz band on the street across from all the patios on the row.

you can't really see it, but this is part of victoria row.

this is gannick (sorry if i'm spelling your name wrong). his mother was on the patio watching my show, and went home to wake him up and bring him out to see me. he was a cool little kid. after the show, i was sitting out on the patio and he walked over and gave me three bucks towards my bus ticket. so i gave him a cd.

ethan and rachel, who i met when i first got there and hung out with. if you guys ever make it out my way, you got a place to crash.

the owner of brennan's, kier (who is also a painter and has a sweet gallery/dance studio upstairs), the bartender, krista (sp?), and yours truly.

part of a really cool collage/mural inside buba's.

this pizza place used to be the city jail.

this bus was brought over here in the 70s, and it still has some of the original signs in it. very cool.
